# Cursor

> Add a Cursor API key to run the Cursor harness in Arize AX managed agents and Signal. Cursor is agent-only and has no Arize-managed default.

Add your Cursor API key so the [Cursor harness](/docs/ax/agents/connect-your-harness#the-harness) can run in managed agents and [Signal](/docs/ax/observe/signal).

Cursor is **agent-only**: it powers the Cursor harness and does not appear in the prompt playground or evaluator model pickers. Unlike Claude Code and Codex, the Cursor harness has no Arize-managed credential, so a run on Cursor always needs a Cursor provider of your own. Runs use Cursor's `auto` model unless you choose another.

<Note>
  By adding this integration, your data may be sent to Cursor when agent runs use the Cursor harness, and your Cursor account will be billed for usage.
</Note>

## Add the Integration from Arize AX

**Navigate to Settings → AI Providers**, then select **Cursor** from the provider list.

1. Give the integration a **name** and paste your Cursor **API key**. You can create one in the [Cursor dashboard](https://cursor.com/dashboard?tab=integrations).
2. Save the integration.

Creating AI Providers requires Organization Admin or Account Admin access.

## Use with managed agents

<Steps>
  <Step title="Create the Cursor integration">
    Add the provider as above.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Allow use in agents">
    Tick the **Managed Agents** checkbox on this provider's row under **Settings → AI Providers**, or use the inline **Enable** link in the **AI Provider** picker.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Select the integration">
    Choose it on an [agent config](/docs/ax/agents/build-your-own-agent#save-it-as-an-agent-config), in [Agent Studio](/docs/ax/agents/build-your-own-agent), or under **Configure Signal** on a run that uses the Cursor harness.
  </Step>
</Steps>

The Cursor harness runs only on the Arize-managed sandbox. Claude Code runs on an [Anthropic provider](/docs/ax/security-and-settings/integrations-playground/anthropic) and Codex on an [OpenAI provider](/docs/ax/security-and-settings/integrations-playground/openai).
