AGI House: Lessons from Hundreds of Launched AI Projects

AGI House concentrates the spirit of Silicon Valley: Its soul is creative heroism, gold rush hypomania, and manifest destiny. Recognizing the Valley’s potential to be the cultural seed of a 9th great civilization, AGI House embodies and advances key principles—from "work as play" to novel cooperation mechanisms—that are reshaping our approach to innovation and lifestyle design. By these principles we’ve launched 1000 AI projects, learning umpteen lessons about what works and what doesn’t. They've pioneered in novel paradigms like simulation and prompt-to-product. There’s a lot of alpha - come pick it up! This talk was originally delivered at Arize:Observe 2024 at Shack 15 in San Francisco on July 11, 2024. Jeremy Nixon

AGI House

Jeremy Nixon is a pioneering technologist and entrepreneur, known for founding Omniscience, where he developed Omni, an LLM-powered real-time information retrieval system, and introduced the first public Book Generator and Research Generator. A Harvard graduate with a degree in Applied Mathematics, Jeremy's academic background laid a strong foundation for his groundbreaking work in machine learning and AI. At Google Brain, he made significant contributions including measures of uncertainty, Concept Discovery, and Automated Curriculum Learning. Jeremy also implemented SparkDL, a convolutional neural network in raw Scala, predating the mainstream adoption of TensorFlow and PyTorch. As the founder of NeoGenesis with Andrej Karpathy in Hillsborough, which he renamed to AGI House and later expanded to AGI House SF, he has cultivated a cultural hub for the AI boom in Silicon Valley, fostering thousands of innovative projects. Currently, Jeremy is executing a global expansion of AGI House, solidifying its influence worldwide.
